Comparison of efficacy and post-operative complications of adenotonsillectomy using coblation versus adenotonsillectomy using microdebrider and bipolar diathermy

<p><strong>Background: </strong>Adenotonsillectomy is one of the widely performed surgical procedures in children worldwide, but there continues to be no universally accepted “ideal” method tonsillectomy. This study aimed compare outcome coblation adenotonsillectomy versus microdebrider adenoidectomy with bipolar tonsillectomy terms efficacy and complication rate.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>In this analytical observational study, 40 patients who underwent were divided into two groups according technique surgery adopted. Group A group B Comparison was made between intraoperative bleeding, haemostasis, ease haemostasis during surgery, post operative pain comfort levels patient also recurrence symptoms after 3 months.</p><p><strong>Results:</strong> Results show that found have significantly higher bleeding. The surgeons it easier attain hemostasis adenotonsillectomy. Postoperative pain, while feeding, difficulty talking, rates residual adenoid tissue observed more using diathermy ear edema uvula slightly adenotonsillectomy.</p><p><strong>Conclusions:</strong> our conclude ‘coblation adenotonsillectomy’ has an advantage over ‘adenotonsillectomy diathermy’ efficacious safer less morbidity rapid recovery.</p>
